Vintage 7-gate sterling silver bracelet which dates back to the 1970's, bears the English hallmarks for the London assay office; the year 1979 and maker's initials JMGT on one "jump"ring. The bracelet comprises 7 panels of linked "gates". Each of the "gates" has 3 "deliberately twisted" struts to give extra design. There is a silver padlock which bears some rather faded markings. A safety chain is threaded through the padlock for extra security. Attached to the padlock is a strong clasp for fastening. Excluding the safety chain/padlock, the bracelet itself measures approx. max 7 1/8". in length. With the bracelet closed ( incl. the padlock etc )and ready to wear, it measures approx. max. 7 7/8". The bracelet is approx. 1" in width at its widest point and weighs 25g.
